My asthma inhaler and I ran our first 5K! I finished in 39 minutes 3 seconds. I'm running my second 5K during the Gate River Run and I'm signing up for two more. I have to thank Erin Hopper for sticking with me over the last two years through my very erratic travel schedule. Without her help and encouragement, I would never have tried running more than 5 minutes.
My new goal is to compete in a kayak/run biathlon. There's one at the end of March, but my work schedule won't leave me any time to train for the kayaking part which is just under 6 miles. Most of my kayaking to date has been pretty relaxed - taking my time, watching for eagles, admiring the scenery - definitely not race prep. Also, I need a different kayak - the one I have is great for kayak/camp trips, but it's a little cumbersome when trying to get a move on.
